Pick the inbox that fits. All three currently land in the same mailbox and the same person reads them, because this is a one-person operation. The subject prefix is what gets your mail into the right queue, so use it, and put the important detail in the first two lines.

Before you email

Most of what reaches the support inbox is solvable inside the product in under a minute:

  • Lost your PIN.We can't look it up or mail it back. PINs are stored as a one-way hash, which is the point: nobody on our side, and nobody who steals our database, can read yours. If your browser still has the session, you're signed in right now. Go write the link down somewhere permanent. If the PIN and the session are both gone, that inbox is unreachable, including by us, and the fix is a fresh board on the homepage.
  • Lost your link. Go to the recover page, type the name exactly as you first typed it, and enter your PIN. Names aren't unique, so the PIN is what separates your board from someone else's.
  • Going private, or muting keywords. Both live in your inbox settings. Private keeps the board out of search results and limits it to people with the direct link. Muted keywords route matching messages straight to Filtered.
  • Blocking a sender, or deleting a message. Both are on the message itself. Blocking is silent; the sender is never told. Deleting is a hard delete.
  • General questions about the flow are answered on how it works, moderation on the safety page, data handling in the privacy policy, and the rules in the terms.

Report from inside the product first

If a specific message is the problem, the Report button on that message beats email every time. Reporting flags it where it sits, so the exact text, the ID, the timestamp and the coarse sender metadata we hold stay attached. An email describing a message sends us hunting for it by hand, which costs a day.

One ordering detail matters: report first, then delete. Delete is permanent, so deleting an abusive message before reporting it leaves us nothing to look at. Reporting tells us; blocking stops the network connection that message arrived on from reaching you again. If someone is targeting you, do both, then email us.

What to put in an abuse report

A report we can act on in one pass, instead of three emails:

  1. Your board link, in the form secretmessageonline.com/b/your-id.
  2. Roughly when it arrived, with your time zone. "Tuesday evening, UTC+3" is enough.
  3. What the message said. Paste the text, or as much as you remember.
  4. What you already did: reported, blocked, muted a keyword, deleted.
  5. Whether it's still happening, and whether you think you know the person offline. That changes how we handle it.

If there is an immediate threat to someone's safety, contact local emergency services first and email us second. In the US, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline takes calls and texts at 988. Write to us afterward either way, because we can preserve the metadata attached to that message while authorities look at it.

One thing we won't do: tell you who sent it. No name, no IP, no country, no hints, no paid "reveal". We can remove content, block at the network level, preserve records, and disclose them on a valid legal request. The safety page shows where that line sits.

What happens after you write in

There is no ticket number and no auto-responder. A person reads your email and replies to it. General support gets a first reply inside 48 hours, abuse reports are triaged inside 24, and anything involving a credible threat or child-sexual content skips the queue. We may come back with a clarifying question about timing or the board link. We won't detail what action was taken against a sender, since that involves a third party. No answer after three business days? Reply to your own email to bump it. Spam filters eat more mail than either of us would like.

Data requests: export and deletion

You can ask for a copy of your data or its deletion under GDPR, CCPA and equivalent laws. With no accounts and no email addresses on file, verification is the awkward part, so help us out.

Never email us your PIN. We will never ask for it, and anyone who does is phishing you. Include your board link or the exact name as you typed it, roughly when you created it, and the wording of a message in the inbox. That matches against our records without handing over the credential.

Then say which you want: an export, a copy of your messages plus the coarse metadata we hold, or deletion, the board and everything on it. Deletion is permanent and kills the link in your bio. We aim to complete both within 30 days.

Often you don't need us. Messages auto-delete after 90 days, and deleting them yourself is instant. If you senta message and want it pulled, we can only find it with the recipient's board link, a rough timestamp, and the text.

DMCA and copyright

If a board name, bio, or message reproduces your work, send a notice identifying the work, the exact URL, your contact details, a good-faith statement, a statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury, and your signature. Missing elements mean we write back and ask, which adds days. Counter-notices use the same address.

Press, partnerships, and everything else

Interviews, integrations, responsible-disclosure reports, advertising enquiries, and feature requests go to the general address. State the ask in the first line. We're small and independent, so a specific request gets a real answer and a vague one probably doesn't. More on who we are on the about page.

Who you are writing to

Secret Message is operated by Birim Ajans (Birim Web Ajansı), a web agency working since 2017. It is a real company with a real office, not a shell behind a contact form, and it is the entity responsible for this site and for the data described in the privacy policy.

  • Operator: Birim Ajans (Birim Web Ajansı)
  • Office: Maltepe, İstanbul, Türkiye
  • Phone: +90 850 307 41 95 (agency line, business hours, Turkish and English)
  • Email: [email protected]
  • Company site: birimajans.com

One honest note about the phone line: it reaches the agency, not a Secret Message support desk. Anything about a specific message or inbox is faster in writing, because we will ask for the board link and a timestamp anyway.
